Around the World of ASB in 28 Days
The Intensive English Program introduces students to the rich educational culture available at ASB, and covers such topics as Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, Math and Physical Education. Students will have integrated and non-integrated lessons with ASB students. The main features of this year’s Intensive English Program are as follows:

Following an international theme “Around the World…” focusing some lessons on nations around the world; their culture, languages and customs, plus there will be a few other themes that the teachers will focus their lessons on. (See below for themes and field trips.)

Making friends with ASB students: The Intensive Program students will have a chance to work on projects, write letters of correspondence (Pen Pals), take lessons, eat lunch, and go on field trips together with the ASB students.

There will be an Ice-Breaker Bowling Party in the first week of the program, to let students get to know some ASB students as well as their fellow IEP students.

The homeroom teachers will have the students host a lesson. ASB students will choose a country and follow a theme of student-centered learning about the country they have chosen.

Students will work on a vocabulary book, of the new words they learnt during the course.

There will be two field trips to the ASB Green Valley campus.

Students will have the opportunity to use technology, to help them with their English. I.E. Raz-kids, Brain Pop, Quizlet, etc…

Week 1: Geography and Nationalities Week.
Field Trip: Welcoming Bowling Party with ASB students.

Week 2: Aquatics Week.
Field Trip: Tuesday Green Valley (Swimming) Thursday Ocean World.

Week 3: Cultures from Around the World.
Field Trip: Rose Garden Thai Cultural Park

Week 4: Science and Technology Week. Field Trip: Science Museum.

Week 5: Sports Week.
Field Trip: Green Valley

Week 6: Animals from around the world.
Field Trip: Zoo
